Inside the Experience
MARISMA FISH TACO zona romantica is a standout gem in Puerto Vallarta’s vibrant street food scene, nestled at Naranjo 320 in the bustling Zona Romántica neighborhood. This modest taco stand elevates classic Baja-style seafood with generous, bold flavors that have garnered a loyal following among locals and travelers alike.
What makes MARISMA truly special is the sheer size and quality of their fish and shrimp tacos. Each taco boasts a noteworthy portion, often wrapped in a thick, crispy batter that provides a satisfying crunch. While some find the batter a bit heavy, it perfectly complements the tender, fresh seafood inside, creating a harmonious balance of texture and flavor. The broad spectrum of toppings and salsas—especially the sweet, soy-marinated jalapeños and onions—adds layers of complexity and bursts of brightness to every bite.
The menu extends beyond tacos, offering quesadillas, tostadas, calamari, and marlin, showcasing a diverse approach to coastal Mexican cuisine. A unique highlight is the refreshing rice water drink, a subtly flavored beverage with a creamy hue, perfect to cleanse the palate amid the bold spices.
Though seating is limited and often sidewalk-style, the atmosphere remains warm and inviting, enhanced by attentive staff and the casual buzz of food lovers gathering to savor authentic seafood delicacies. MARISMA FISH TACO is not just a meal but an experience, capturing the essence of Puerto Vallarta’s street food culture with each flavorful bite.
For anyone keen on exploring the rich seafood offerings of this vibrant town, MARISMA FISH TACO zona romantica promises a memorable culinary adventure that celebrates both tradition and robust, fresh ingredients. Whether you are a connoisseur of seafood tacos or a curious traveler eager to taste local favorites, this spot is a must-visit on your Puerto Vallarta itinerary.
“ Good fish and shrimp tacos but there's a very thick layer of batter and little quantity of fish/shrimp. Place gets quite busy mainly because of the bigger size of the tacos. Food quality is great but no proper seating as you will have to sit on the sidewalk. Overall above average experience as we had better tacos at a few places in Sayulita and San Pancho. El camaron express is also a better option for fish tacos in my opinion. ”
“ This was a stop on the Vallarta Eats Food Tour. ATMOSPHERE: This stand goes all out with covered seating for about 10 souls, including a hand washing station. MENU: Tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, calamari, marlin. BEVERAGE: Rice Water This was an odd drink. Rice is soaked in the water which gave it a subtle flavor. The liquid looked similar in color to iced coffee with lots of cream. Refreshing but not for me. FOOD: Mahi & Shrimp Tacos We received one of each. Both were battered tempura-style and served on soft corn tortillas. The batter flavor was very good, however I'm not a fan of seafood tacos. The fish was moist and tender. The shrimp was so long it stuck out of the tortilla on both ends. I'm not exactly sure how they possibly attached two shrimp together end-to-end. SERVICE: The ladies were extremely friendly and smiley. It's a well-oiled operation that ran smooth. TIP: I'm not sure if it's available to all, but our tour group was able to take a hands-on crash course on tortilla-making with the staff which involved rolling the dough and pressing it flat just right. OVERALL: Terrific choice for the seafood taco lover. ”
“ It’s one of the best taco street vendors in Puerto Vallarta. It’s on par with taco de cabeza a chilio which is just a few streets down. We heard about this place from a Mark Wiens video from YouTube and had to give it a try. We had the fish tacos both deep fried and grilled as well as the ceviche tostada. The key is that they provide lots of condiments that really add to the quality of the experience. Everything was excellent but when you add both their aoili and onion sauce, it sends the experience into another level!! This is an incredible food stop and a must try in PV. They do have seats and an outside area for seating as well as hand washing faucet. Prices are cheap as we spent around $6.50 per person including drinks. We highly recommend!!! ”
“ Best fish tacos I have ever had! I went 3 times during my week long vacation. Great value for the money and the staff are friendly - must visit if you are in the zona romantico area ”
“ I watched videos read reviews and wanted to see for myself. The fish and shrimp tacos were the best tacos i had in PV (or anywhere) . They were Amazing. They also had a lot of salsas and sauces BUT the best part was the jalapeños and onions marinating in some sort of sweet soya sauce. We ate here twice till ours hearts were content ”
